Welcome

This is a blog started due to the suggestion of Nathan A. Finn. A “cage stage” Calvinist is one who is new and unbearable. The phrase came from the idea that the new Calvinist ought to be locked in a cage for a a few years until he can be trusted to behave in normal society. He says outrageous things and attempts to convert everyone he encounters to Calvinism. He cannot hold a conversation without talking about the doctrines of grace. Whenever he is asked how his day is he promptly answers, “ordained.” He uses the pickup line, “Your name must be grace, because you’re irresistible!” He likely considers Arminians to be heretics. He probably calls four-point Calvinists (and any moderate Calvinists) Arminians.

I am a fairly new Calvinist; however, I believe I have mostly escaped the ‘cage stage,’ but I will attempt to write as one – perhaps relaying some of what I hear and read from cage-stagers. If I find I am not doing well at representing my cage-worthy comrades, I may turn this blog over to one of them.
